Podcast advertising and technical difficulties

Even the best can be tripped up by technical problems. On this week’s episode of the Q’d Up Podcast on Podcasting, that’s exactly what happened. Jay and John used SquadCast to record the first version of this episode only to get back a bad recording that was unusable. So, with a lesson remembered, it’s the perfect time to talk about it.

The guys go over what they think happened with the initial recording and some of the tips they should have followed. They then turn their attention to a special Edison Research survey of “super listeners” and what they had to say about podcast advertising.

Show highlights:

Introduction

Jay and John are recording this for the second time due to some technical difficulties

Recording software – SquadCast (1:30)

John breaks down why they initially went with SquadCast and what went wrong. Jay adds some of his insight and past experiences to explain why things went wrong.

Super listeners survey results and podcast advertising (11:27)

Edison Research is back with another great survey. This time, it’s focusing on super listeners — people that listen to podcasts for a minimum of five hours a week. Jay focuses on what the survey has to say about podcast advertising and how it has changed in 2020.
