Selected work
One project in full, then the rest of the shelf. Some of this work is internal or under NDA — where we can't show it, we've said what it was instead of describing it around the edges.
Flagship · Penn State Health · Four Diamonds
Penn State Health Children's Hospital and Four Diamonds needed young adult cancer patients to tell their own stories, without the gloss that makes hospital content unwatchable. We built a patient-led series filmed on location at therapeutic events and treatment milestones, running across YouTube, Spotify, Apple Podcasts, and its own site. Four years in, it's still in production.
Patient stories are the most powerful thing a hospital has and the easiest thing to get wrong. Produce them too cleanly and they read as marketing. Produce them carelessly and you've used someone's worst year as content. The program needed a format that could hold both.
Incredibly informative and touching — it helps families understand someone's experience with cancer treatment in their early twenties. Apple Podcasts reviewVisit the series →
COVID Q&A — an internal podcast built at speed during the pandemic to keep a 15,000-person workforce informed, held to a 24–48 hour delivery window week after week.
Alongside it, the ongoing mix of Penn State and Four Diamonds work that feeds the Life on Pause channel — and days crewed on Penn State Health commercial shoots alongside their in-house media team.
The rest of the shelf

A show for Amazon sellers and e-commerce operators — produced and marketed. We built the program and ran the campaign that put it in front of its audience, past every target it was set.

A multi-platform podcast and educational video series cutting through beauty-industry noise with clinical expertise and an unfiltered point of view. Shot on location in San Francisco, quarterly.

Chief Security Strategist Steve Moore interviewing CISOs about leading security teams. In production since episode one. Primarily an audio show, with occasional explainer and video pieces alongside it.

A daily hospitality news show for Yelp, hosted by Philip Camino and Nyesha Arrington — a different production discipline from a weekly interview format, and one that lives or dies on turnaround.

Two branded internal podcasts that reached a global workforce across diverse markets — employee engagement at a scale most internal comms teams never attempt.

Work from before Q'd Up, plus days crewed on other teams' productions. These aren't Q'd Up engagements, and we list them plainly rather than as clients, because they're where the craft came from.
In their words
Producing this podcast in conjunction with Q'd Up has allowed us to engage key internal audiences amid a rapidly-evolving, unprecedented situation. Having John record, produce and upload each episode allowed our office to focus specifically on the content.Scott GilbertPenn State Health
Q'd Up's technical know-how and ear for detail have helped us deliver content in a new channel — podcasting — that helps us communicate to employees scattered across the company. Their contributions are invaluable.Rob SmithHost, The Pod · The Hershey Company
When I think of the word ‘partner’, they come to my mind, because this team thinks of my business goals as their own. They have been honest in providing me feedback and looking out for my investment.Jen AyresSenscient
